13th Annual Outhouse Classic is this Saturday
Andrew Norton
Yep, you read that correctly. Never heard of the Outhouse Classic? You see, up in the U.P. winter does strange things to folks and they need to do something a little odd in order to break out of winter's monotonous grasp. The Outhouse Classic is a race. Not your run of the mill NASCAR event, though. This race is powered by two people pushing an outhouse on skis 500 feet down the main street in Trenary. They have about 20 teams signed up and ready to go.
Races begin at 2pm with four separate classes using age as the determinant. This year's race slogan is "Push Your Luck at the 13th Ever Outhouse Classic." Proceeds from merchandise and food vendors are donated to local community projects and programs.
