2014 Trenary Outhouse Classic is February 22nd

Winter is tough. Yoopers have to be even tougher to make it through an Upper Peninsula winter. This winter has been one of the coldest and snowiest of recent memory and the need to get out and blow off some steam is greater than most years. Yoopers have found a great way to get out of the winter blahs - the Trenary Outhouse Classic. 2014 marks the 21st year for this Yooper tradition.

Michigan's oldest and largest Civil War reenactment is this weekend in Jackson

This weekend (August 25-26, 2012) at the Jackson Civil War Muster the 2nd Battle of Manassas (2nd Battle of Bull Run) will be reenacted on Saturday at 2pm and on Sunday, the Battle of Stones River will be reenacted at 2pm. In addition to the battles are a number of battalion drills, medical scenarios, Calvary demonstrations, vendors, and even a small Civil War era town to view. Don't forget - the 4th Annual Mackinac Bridge Antique Tractor Crossing is this weekend

Over 800 antique tractors will parade across the Mackinac Bridge this Friday, September 16th. The parade begins in Mackinaw City at approximately 9am and will head north over the bridge, through St. Ignace, and finish at Kewadin Shores Casino. You will also be able to view the antique tractors on September 16th & 17th at the casino grounds. The parade will go on rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there are winds in excess of 35 m.p.h. There is no makeup date for this event.
