We are closed March 5th - 7th

Andrew Norton

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we are closed Wednesday, March 5th, through Friday, March 7th. Any gift baskets ordered after 5 p.m. tomorrow, March 4th, and Monday, March 10th will ship March 11th. We've already sent this information out to our past customers and wanted to offer another venue for this announcement.

Also, don't forget that Daylight Saving Time takes place this weekend. You'll have to set your clocks forward (Spring forward) an hour so theoretically you will be "losing" an hour of sleep. It evens out come the fall when you set your clocks back an hour. It's going to be tough getting up in the early morning again since it will be black as night instead of the ever increasing daylight we've been enjoying in the morning.

Set your clocks forward one hour this weekend

Andrew Norton

Don't forget to set your clocks forward (Spring ahead, remember?) one hour this weekend. Effective at 2 a.m. EST on March 11 we begin the new (not sure about improved) longer period of daylight savings. We are shifting one hour of our morning daylight to the evening. Some of your electronic devices such as your VCR and computer might not automatically change their clocks for you since this is the first year for the earlier and longer period of daylight savings. Normally your software would handle this for you, but if you haven't bought a new PC with Windows Vista or perform the Microsoft Automatic Updates you will need to make the change to the clock manually.

Mac users should also make sure they have the most up to date versions of their software.

Happy Friday!

Don't Forget to Adjust Your Clocks

Andrew Norton

Yes, it is time once again to wake up to darkness and have an extra hour of light in the evening. You will need to set your clocks forward an hour before you go to bed Saturday night unless you want to stay up and change them at 2a.m. when the time change officially takes place. Just when it was getting nice and light out at 6 a.m. - rats! Remember that next year the time change will begin the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. This is due to the Energy Policy Act of 2005 which is supposed to help us save energy. I don't see how this is true since you will just have to have your lights on longer in the morning and less in the evening. Oh well, trying to make sense of it makes my head hurt too much on a Friday afternoon.
