Beautiful Video of the Fall Colors in Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Andrew Norton

I just love fall here in Michigan. In fact, I came up with a solid list of the five main reasons that it's such a favorite of mine.

  1. Cool, crisp air means sweatshirt weather.
  2. Apple picking (and eating in pie, applesauce, apple crisp, etc.)
  3. Cider season (and my favorite cider donuts from Corey Lake Orchards!)
  4. I feel like making chili, pot roast, and turkey with all the fixings
  5. Last, but not least - The Beautiful Fall Colors

Put on a sweatshirt, grab a glass of cider, and dunk a donut while you watch this beautiful video of the fall colors in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. See if you can spot the locations - Pictured Rocks, Grand Marais, Au Train, and Kingston Lake.

Where is your favorite spot in Michigan for the fall colors?

Andrew Norton

It's that time of the year again when Michigan's landscape explodes in a beautiful palette of color. My two-year-old daughter and I have already started collecting some of the wonderfully hued leaves from the silver maples in our back yard. I couldn't believe it last week when I gazed up into the upper reaches of one of the silver maples and could see a handful of leaves beginning to blush with color. I simply love the area around here in southwest Michigan for fall color viewing. With so many rivers, state land, and a wonderful covered bridge in nearby Centreville it's a hotspot for fall color photography. I've also had the privilege of witnessing the show that is put on in the Upper Peninsula and that is a definite "must see" if you have never taken the opportunity to witness the fall colors in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Here's yet another great Pure Michigan ad to get you in the mood for Michigan's fall color show:

Michigan fall colors are quickly fading

Andrew Norton

10-23-2008 AAA Michigan's weekly report on the fall color here in Michigan states that the peaking colors are now in southern and southwest Michigan. We've been enjoying some of the most vibrant colors in quite sometime here in southwest Michigan. I've got trees bursting with bright yellows and reds that normally just turn a dull yellow, wither, and fall to the lawn to be raked up.

It's just been gorgeous this fall here in Michigan. Beautiful weather and an excellent color show.

The weather report this morning said we could see some s-n-o-w showers or flurries on Monday and my son couldn't be more excited. I can wait a while for the snow.

Until then, check out wonderful videos of Michigan's fall colors as well as a plethora of pictures at Michigan Fall Colors.

Celebrate Michigan's Fall Colors

I've spotted a random tree here and there that is turning color down here in southwest Michigan and while it won't hit its peak for a while down here it won't be long and Michigan's Upper Peninsula will be a dazzling display of color. Get the latest Michigan Fall Color updates, corn maze listing, Michigan Apple Orchard directory, view pictures of Michigan's colorful fall display, watch video montages of Michigan's fall colors, and more at Michigan Fall Colors.

Old Red Barn Surrounded in Fall Colors

Andrew Norton

Hillside in October, originally uploaded by CaptPiper.

Well, despite waking up to a light dusting of snow on the leaves that were knocked off of the trees by the wind and rain yesterday I am still in a fall state of mind. I really like the red of the barn contrasted with the bright orange leaves in the background.

I guess I am just a sucker for great barn pictures, especially those in the fall with the great Michigan color display.

Our son was quite excited about the splash of white that dusted the leaves in our yard. I would rather we continue the fall weather and put winter back on the shelf until it is a bit closer to Christmas.
