Own a piece of the Mackinac Bridge

The state of Michigan is currently auctioning off five 2 ton sections of the steel grating from the Mackinac Bridge. The auction ends September 27th so you still have a week to get your bid in. Current bids are hovering around $2,000 at the time of this blog post (Monday September 20, 2021).
These 60 year old grating sections were originally coated with a lead based paint. The sections measure approximately 5 1/2 feet by 38 feet by 5 inches thick. Included in the bid price is the option to have the sections cut into two shorter pieces. If you win, you are responsible for taking delivery and securing the load.
