Thought I would share a little something uplifting for this wonderful Friday here in Michigan. Something to help make you feel that everything is going to be just fine. I am reminded of a sign I saw a few years back. It said, "Failure is not falling down. Failure is not getting back up after you fall down." Lets dust ourselves off and get back up, Michigan.

The video features photos and video from the Free Press and the Detroit News and kicks off a new promotional campaign for the papers with an anthem that pays tribute to the strength and grit of southeast Michigan in these tough times.

Pure Michigan "Snow Day" television ad

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really like the Pure Michigan ad campaign. Both the radio ads and television ads are really well done and it's no surprise they have won awards. Here's one I had not seen before and even though I am beginning to long for spring - I like it.

Surfing the Great Lakes

You can't surf the Great Lakes. At least that is what the "experts" say. This video proves otherwise. This documentary is called, "Unsalted: A Great Lakes Experience." When they show guys surfing Lake Superior wearing extra thick wetsuits and talking about the water being 33 degrees - it made me shiver. It's an incredible sight to see guys surfing with ice chunks floating amongst the waves. That's dedication to a sport or just plain crazy.

Then today is your lucky day! I found this neat little video montage of Michigan's U.P. in the fall. Locations include Porcupine Mountains, Lakenland Junkyard Art, Pictured Rocks, and Mackinac Island.
