St. Patrick's Day is coming next Tuesday and that got me thinking about beer. Then, I got to thinking about how to turn that into something Michigan-related. Well, it didn't take much to start wondering about which of the many quality brewing companies in Michigan might be the outright favorite. An informal polling of people on Twitter last week turned up Bell's as the hands-down favorite. So how about it, Michigan?

This week's poll question is all about how you think the 2009 Detroit Tigers season will end. I have a bad case of spring fever and with Spring Training underway I also have a case of baseball fever. While driving my son to preschool today I saw yet another house that was either foreclosed or it was a rental - either way the people were being evicted. Their belongings were being stacked in the driveway and a notice had been posted on the front door. My son asked me what was going on at that house and rather than telling him a truth he is too young to understand - I told him a partial truth, that the the people who lived there were moving. I have never seen so many evictions here in southwest Michigan as I have seen just since Christmas. It's incredibly sad to see. I will say this, the people moving out the belongings did try and treat them as nicely as possible. Too many times I have seen the entire contents of a house unceremoniously thrown and dumped into the front yard. Many times leaving the items unsalvageable.

The Arizona Cardinals continued their surprising run by beating the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday to earn a spot in the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history. There are only a handful of NFL teams to have never appeared in a Super Bowl and unfortunately the Detroit Lions are one of them. So that brings us to this week's poll question below. [poll id="13"]
