News about Indoor Water Park Hotels in Michigan

Andrew Norton

Did you know that Michigan is currently home to six indoor water park hotels with two more scheduled to open later this year? So far only the lower peninsula of Michigan has indoor water parks attached to hotels. Although, they are getting closer to the U.P. with one opening in Mackinaw City later this year. Hopefully one will sprout up there sometime soon.

Anyway, I created a page over at Squidoo about all of the Indoor Water Park Hotels in Michigan.

You will be able to see video of some of the indoor water parks in Michigan, get lodging deals through Orbitz, and learn more about the size of the water park and types of attractions.

Nottawa Wild Bird Supply

Andrew Norton

It's that time of the year again when it is a good idea to help out your local bird population by putting up a bird feeder. Not only to the little birdies get a pleasant winter treat, but you get the joy of seeing the variety of birds that come to your feeder. Our three year old loves seeing the bright red cardinals and blue jays. Around Christmas we built our own bird feeder and he helped paint it. He took great pride in seeing birds eat at "his" bird feeder.

You can get bird feeders, bird seed, field guides, nest boxes and more at Nottawa Wild Bird Supply in Nottawa, Michigan. If you can't make it down to Nottawa you can always order from their web site at www.NottawaWildBirdSupply.com.

Great last minute gift ideas from the Handmade Detroit blog

Andrew Norton

A great blog for crafters here in Michigan (especially in the Detroit area) is Handmade Detroit. They are right in the middle of their 12 days of free Christmas projects. They featured some handmade gift tags the other day. Do yourself a favor and check out this really well put together blog that shows the creativity of people in the craft scene on the east side of the mitten.

New website touting Michigan products and services

Andrew Norton

BuyMichiganNow.com recently launched to help promote Michigan and the number of products that are made and grown here. They have a petition you can sign to -

play an active role in building a strong, vibrant, and diverse Michigan economy. I will be a part of the solution by speaking positively about the state, learning about our products and services, and making a concerted effort to buy from Michigan businesses. I will Think Michigan First!

I found out about this new website from another Pro-Michigan site we support - BuyMichiganProducts.com. When I checked out the Holiday Christmas Shopping Guide from BuyMichiganNow.com I noticed that Gift Baskets From Michigan LLC was lucky enough to be mentioned as one of the places to get your Michigan gift baskets. Cool.

According to the feature run on Fox 2 Detroit - Lisa Diggs, founder of BuyMichiganNow.com, "hopes 5,000 people will take the pledge by Dec. 31." I signed it and was Number 620. I hope that folks take notice and check it out.

Get some extra cash for Christmas

Andrew Norton

I just received a postcard in the mail about an eBay Day clinic in Constantine, Michigan. The free event on Tuesday, November 20 is open to the public, but you must register due to limited class sizes. The sessions will take place at the Constantine Village Hall. My postcard said that you should register at the White Pigeon Post Office, but I wonder if the Constantine Post Office is another place for registration. You can also register by phone at 483-9016.

There are two sessions each lasting approximately 2 hours. The first session is from 2-4 pm and the second session is at 6-8pm.

You get a "start up" packet that includes a Get Started CD from eBay. The classes will teach you:

  • How to open an account
  • How to Buy
  • How to Sell
  • The fees involved
  • How to Ship

It would certainly be a great way for folks to learn how to get rid of some clutter around the house and make some extra cash for Christmas.
